Finding time for yourself seems to be one of the hardest things to do but having some downtime is important. There are only 24 hours in a day and you simply cannot do it all so stop and take a break. Relax!!!  You will be doing yourself a favor because when you are burned out and tired, you become unproductive and not so fun to be around. A little recharge won't hurt. Me time leads to self discovery, more productivity and a better you.

Do the things that make you happy:

This is a biggy for me. Don't throw yourself into things that don't make you happy then complain about it. Do what makes your soul happy. By doing so, we end up happier, healthier and better version of ourselves.  I used to be so afraid of saying "no" because I had to please everybody. I have become OK with saying NO to things that dont bring me joy.

Travel: 

Travels is fuel for your soul. Travel makes you a more interesting and accepting person. Travel opens up a whole world of discovery and expands you. It teaches you about people, lifestyles, and cultures.  Travel also allows us to de-stress, unwind and recharge. The benefits we gain from travel is well worth saving for. So get out there and see the world  

Stop and recharge:

When your brain is tired and you become unproductive, its time to stop and recharge. 

Spend some quality time with family, friends and loved ones:

Sometimes, some quality time friends or family is just what we need. A girls trip, date night, movies or just some relaxing time at home does it. Life can get so busy sometimes but we have to make time for those people in our lives that matter.

Meditate:

Boy is this struggle for me. I am still working on my meditation skills but thr key here is I try. Our minds are always in a thousand places at once. I am getting better at meditating and it's a great source of inner calm.

Enjoy some alone time:  

Years ago, I used to be so terrified to be alone. I needed to be around people to feel like I was having fun. As I got older, I learned to LOVE some me time. You will be amazed at how some time to yourself can make a difference in your personal happiness.  Make a date with yourself. Read that book you have been me meaning to read. Treat yourself to a mani-pedi. Go to the spa. Enjoy your own company an allow yourself to be alone with your thoughts.  Bottomline is, if you don't take time to take care of yourself, you wont have much of yourself to give to others.
